In California's Napa Valley Wine Country, there are several exclusive experiences visitors can book, including a personal vineyard tour followed by a private wine-tasting conducted by either the vineyard owner or the winemaker. One such is available at the Staglin Family Vineyard in Rutherford, which has been rated one of the top 5 California vineyards, and where award-winning wines have been made for about 40 years now.
The Staglin Family Vineyard is an organic vineyard, growing Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Chardonnay grapes. The Staglin wines are then aged in French oak for 20-24 months, with about half the barrels being replaced each year.

Staglin Family Vineyard History
Garen and Shari Staglin bought the 62-acre ranch with its 50 acres of vines in the Rutherford Bench in Napa Valley in 1985, though the vines had been originally planted back in 1965. Even today, production is less than 6000 cases a year, making it a very exclusive wine-tasting experience.

Wine from the Staglin Family Vineyards have won many awards. Their 2002 Staglin Chardonnay was picked by Wine Spectator as the best dry white wine in the world.

The Annual Music Festival for Mental Health
Each fall the Staglin family organises a music festival, which has raised a staggering $46 million for mental health over the years. Every cent raised goes direct to the charity work. The 13th annual festival is being held September 8th, 2007, and stars Gladys Knight. Previous headliners have included Brian Wilson, Roberta Flack and Ramsey Lewis. At the 2006 Festival Brian Wilson signed one of his own guitars, which was then auctioned for $60,000.
