Pet Friendly Hotels In Lake Tahoe

Places To Stay In South Shore That Allow Animals

Jul 14, 2009 Janis Masyk-Jackson

There are several locations in Lake Tahoe that allow pets for a nominal fee.

Lake Tahoe is a vacationer's paradise. During the summer, visitors flock to the various beaches to enjoy the beautiful, pristine waters of Lake Tahoe. In winter months, skiers can enjoy the numerous slopes in the area.

Many people enjoy bringing their pets with them when they travel. Fortunately for pet owners, Lake Tahoe has several pet friendly accommodations ranging from hotel rooms to cabins.

The Seven Seas Inn At South Shore

The Seven Seas Inn, located at 4145 Manzanita Ave., allows all types of pets. Located within walking distance of casinos and a private beach, The Seven Seas Inn has a 2,000 square ft. fenced in area in back where pets can run and play.

What makes this hotel stand out from others is that instead of charging a fee per day or per pet, the Seven Seas Inn has a one time charge of $10 for the duration of a traveler's stay. Forgot the dog biscuits at home? No problem. Stop by the office which always has treats.

High Country Lodge In Lake Tahoe

While people can enjoy playing volleyball, throwing horseshoes or relaxing in a jacuzzi, pets can get a good workout on the leash run at the High Country Lodge at 1227 Emerald Bay Road.

Besides the leash run, there's a large, grassy area that pets can frolic in. All types of pets are welcome and the High Country Inn charges $10 per night extra to accommodate pets.

Lake Tahoe's Alpenrose Inn

Nestled among the trees is the beautiful Alpenrose Inn which is situated at 4074 Pine Road in South Shore, Lake Tahoe. Dogs are welcome at this inn at a fee of $10 per night. Alpenrose Inn has 19 rooms and is only a 5 minute walk to a private beach. It is also only a 10 minute drive to a local dog park.

Best Western Timber Cove Lodge

Located right on the shores of Lake Tahoe and home to its own Marina, the Best Western Timber Cove Lodge is located at 3411 Lake Tahoe Blvd. Both dogs and cats are welcome here.

With designated pet areas, the Best Western Timber Cove Lodge allows two pets per room. The fee is $25 per night and a $100 deposit is required.

Heavenly Inn At Lake Tahoe

The Heavenly Inn, located at 930 Pine Street in South Shore, welcomes guests with dogs to stay there. The fee is $15 per night, per dog. Although it doesn't have any pet facilities on the property, there is a park right across the street that guests can bring their dogs to.

Holly's Place At Lake Tahoe

Holly's Place, at 1201 Rufus Allen Blvd. is a vacation resort for people and pets alike. Located on two acres, Holly's Place consists of cabins in a tree rich environment. Dogs will delight in their own doggie pond. Poop stations with bags and scoopers are located throughout the property for guests' convenience.

There's a special studio for cat lovers to enjoy with their felines. It isn't always possible to bring along a dog bed, but at Holly's Place, it isn't a problem. Extra dog beds are available on this property. There is a $15 per night fee.

Before booking any of these properties, be sure to check with the hotels and inns as policies and fees can change.
