Centrally located in the city of Los Angeles, West Hollywood offers some of the best early night life around. Frugal eats and drinks can be found on almost every corner.
The Belmont CafeLocated at 747 N. La Cienega Blvd. (near the Melrose Ave. cross street), the Belmont Cafe offers half off all drinks and appetizers every day between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. Aside from their well stocked bar that ranges from well to premium liquors, wines and beers, their appetizer menu will leave your mouth watering. Jumbo Crab Cakes, Tuna Tar Tar, Baby Back Ribs and Blue Crab Macaroni and Cheese can all be ordered for less than $10. Be sure to check out their Bloody Mary Bar during brunch hours on Sunday morning as well. Stone Fire PizzaJust up the road at 829 N. La Cienega Blvd. sits Stone Fire Pizza. Specializing in authentic Chicago deep dish pizza, they offer a Happy Hour every Monday through Friday from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. with half off all beers on tap, most wines, well drinks and their wood fired pizzas (a flat pizza as opposed to a deep dish.) On Saturday and Sundays, they offer an extended Happy Hour from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with half off all draft beers and wood fired pizzas. With some large televisions hung over the bar, this is a great place to watch the big game. The Spanish KitchenLocated on the opposite side of the street from Stone Fire Pizza at 826 N. La Cienega Blvd. the Spanish Kitchen offers half off all appetizers from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. every day of the week. You can snack on freshly made Guacamole, Lobster Crepes, Quesadillas, Lobster Ceviche or even Blue Corn Chicken Taquitos. Be sure to check out their theme nights like Enchalada Mondays or Taco Tuesdays. One can even sign up for a tequila taste testing school. Hamburger Mary’sFor a bit of a funkier mood, check out Hamburger Mary’s. A legendary spot in West Hollywood located just around the corner at 8288 Santa Monica Blvd (just east of La Cienega), they boast the reputation for having the greatest drag queen bingo game in town every Wednesday night. There are two games, at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. and often entail celebrity co-hosts. But when it comes to Happy Hour Hamburger Mary’s certainly doesn’t disappoint either. A smattering of appetizers from hot wings, to nachos, to mozzarella sticks are all $4. They offer $4 well martinis and even $5 margaritas. It takes place every day from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. And be sure to check out the $3 Bloody Mary special and $1 Mimosa special every Sunday during brunch hours.
