Disneyland Shopping, Eating and Fun!

When you walk through the main gate at Disneyland, the magic begins as you stroll down Main Street USA.

As people enter the “Happiest Place on Earth,” they are immediately transported back into time to a small American town, circa 1990’s. Filled with shops, eateries, attractions and old time transportation, Disneyland’s Main Street U.S.A. makes one put their cares behind and begin a magical day at Disneyland.

Shops on Disneyland's Main Street USA

The Emporium is the largest shop on Main Street. Carrying a variety of Disney merchandise, the Emporium is the busiest shop on Main Street. It is best to shop here early as it becomes very busy at the end of the day. Disney Clothiers is home to a wide range of Disney themed clothing with sizes ranging from infant to adult.

Crystal Arts is a wonderful shop which houses beautiful, hand blown crystal pieces. People need not worry if they don’t see what they want. Guests can custom order pieces and have them shipped home. Main Street Magic Shop is a fun store filled with magic tricks. It is also where Steve Martin used to work before becoming an actor.

Disneyana is truly a treat to visit. Some of the best Disney collectables and artwork are found here.Silhouette Studio is just as it sounds. Artists create a paper silhouette of guests.

Additionally, there are shops carrying everything from candy, to Disney CDs and movies, to timepieces, and photo supplies.

Eateries in Disneyland on Main Street USA

Carnation Café is one of only two table service restaurants in Disneyland. Menu items include soup, salad, sandwiches, entrees, beverages and dessert. Plaza Inn offers breakfast, lunch and dinner with entrees including chicken, beef and pasta. It is also the only restaurant in Disneyland that offers a character breakfast.

Main Street Cone Shop features a variety of ice cream and toppings along with ice cream bars shaped like Mickey Mouse. Blue Ribbon Bakery delights guests with an assortment of tasty, bakery treats, cold drinks and a nice choice of coffees. Additionally, there are fruit stands, beverage carts, etc. scattered along Main Street.

Disneyland Attractions Located in Main Street USA

Disneyland Railroad is one of Disneyland’s original attractions. With stops at Main Street, New Orleans Square, Toontown and Tomorrowland, the Disney Railroad takes guests on a journey throughout the different lands of Disneyland, with highlights including dioramas of Grand Canyon today and how it looked during the days of dinosaurs. Disneyland’s Opera House is currently closed. After housing Disneyland: The First 50 Magical Years, it closed its doors in March, 2009, to make way for the return of Mr. Lincoln.

Disneyland Transportation on Main Street USA

Main Street offers a delightful selection of old time transportation that takes guests on a one way trip from the beginning of Main Street to Main Street Plaza in front of Sleeping Beauty’s Castle. Vehicles include horse drawn streetcars, horseless carriages, an omnibus and old time fire engine.

Meeting Disney Characters In Disneyland

Look for various Disney characters along Main Street, especially in the mornings, as they pose for pictures and sign autographs.

So much fun and so much to do and Main Street is only the beginning of a fun filled day at Disneyland!
