With a name as alluring as The Emerald Forest, this campground attracts many patrons traveling along highway 101. Despite its convenient location and numerous amenities, The Emerald Forest Campground is an over-priced disappointing facility. It is more like a motel than a campground with its rumored unfriendly staff, numerous fees and crowded atmosphere. The Satisfactory Aspects of The Emerald Forest, Including Amenities:Within twelve acres of space, The Emerald Forest Campground offers a small video arcade, gift shop, playground, coin laundry, celebration hall and bathhouse. There are nineteen small cabins available for rent, twenty-four petite tent camp sites and 48 RV sites with several different amenities. There is a day use picnic area one can use after paying a fee, horseshoe pit, badminton area and functional pay-to-use telephones. Free wifi runs throughout the park as does cable television for RV campsites. There are numerous amenities one can take advantage of at The Emerald Forest if he or she is willing to pay the price. Fee’s, Pet Policy, and Extra Charges:Cabins: Cabins must be reserved and cost from $110.00 to $200.00 per night depending upon the season. Dogs are only allowed in two of the cabins and patrons must pay an extra $10.00 per night and a $50.00 refundable deposit. Dogs may not weigh over 15 pounds and must be kept on a leash during their entire stay. For more information regarding cabins visit the official site. RV Sites: Pets are allowed on RV sites, they must be kept on a leash at all times. A $10.00 fee is charged at the RV dumping station. The following list of prices applies for sites occupied by two people. For every additional person camping in the RV, tack on an extra $3.00 to the price. Full hook-up pull-thru sites cost $42.00 during the summer and fall to $30.00 in the spring. Full hook-up back-in sites cost $40.00 in the summer and $28.00 in spring. RV water, electric and cable cost $37.00 in the summer and $26.00 in the spring. RV water and electric cost $34.00 in the summer and $24.00 in the spring. RV dry (no hook ups) cost $30.00 in the summer and $22.00 in the spring. Tent sites: There are absolutely no pets allowed in any of the tent sites; no exceptions. The following rates are intended for two occupants, add an extra $3.00 to the price for every additional camper. In the summer tent sites cost $30.00 and fall to $22.00 in the spring. The Reality of The Emerald Forest Campground:In summation, The Emerald Forest of Trinidad is a small campground offering so many amenities that someone who wishes to relax in nature simply cannot. The staff here is unfriendly and unwavering; especially about their pet policy.
